Our Story

Ben and I met in church in the late spring of 2003, but we didn’t start dating until 2004 when he moved from North Carolina to Tennessee.  He was in the military and I was the Director of Student Activities at Campbell University.  He asked me to marry him in 2005, and on May 28, 2006 we got married in Angier, NC and I moved to Tennessee to be with him.

Our life together has been definitely been eventful. After a year in Clarksville, TN we moved to Georgia so he could attend Georgia Tech.  While he was at Georgia Tech, I started working on my doctorate online through Liberty University while teaching kindergarten at Horizon Christian Academy.  Two years after moving to Georgia, we moved to West Point, NY where Ben would teach in the math department at West Point Military Academy for three years.  My first year at West Point, I taught fifth grade at West Point Middle School.  My second year I transferred to the elementary school where I taught third grade and completed my doctorate in education, and my final year I taught second grade.

Ben and I both knew when we started dating that we wanted to have a big family, but were unsuccessful at getting pregnant until our fifth year of marriage… this blog was started to share our journey through life with twins… and has continued to follow our journey through secondary infertility, cancer, emergency surgeries, and learning to trust God and choose joy despite whatever life throw our way!
